About 6 months ago (here in the UAE), I started having really bad skin issues from breakouts, severe acne, dehydrated skin and basically every terrible skin concern you could think of! So bad that I didn’t even want to leave the house without TONS of makeup on my face (even though I know that is not an attractive look at all!)
Anyway – I became obsessed with fixing my skin and looked at every single blog post about skin, every review, every recommendation from bloggers or beauticians and of course spent so much money on products that I can’t say with certainty fixed my skin.
I now after 6 months finally wake up blessed in the morning with great skin again and there literally is no feeling like it (I know my fellow skin sufferers will know what I mean). I wanted to share with you guys some of the products I am using at the moment that really works and in my opinion it kicks all the super expensive products butt so let’s begin!
Facial Wash: Bioderma Sebium Purifying Cleansing Foaming Gel – My husband got this from the pharmacy, supposedly to shrink his pores but I use it to remove my makeup and it is super gentle, does not break me out, really cleanses the face of any makeup and smells really good! I am a big Bioderma fan and I’m on my 3rd bottle of this already!
Toner: Bioderma H20 Solution (Miracle Water Basically) – This is the BEST makeup remover I have ever used. Many, many people swear by it and I bought a travel size version to test for myself and it truly is a great gentle product!
Muslin Cloths: When I went for an Optiphi Facial in SA, they recommended I use a Muslin cloth twice a week for gentle exfoliation. I found it strange, but after I tried it for the first time and my skin was so smooth – I definitely became hooked on these (I tend to overdo it though – DON’T scrub more than twice a week!) The brand I use at the moment is Liz Earle and it comes in a pack of 6 – enough to use a new one almost everyday and wash the other very regularly!
The last skincare product that has made a dramatic change in my skin is Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel with Salicylic Acid. It has helped my skin with redness left from scars or picking my skin (you all do it so don’t judge), creates radiant, even-toned skin, unclogs pores and diminishes enlarged pores. I really have seen a difference in using this day and night under my moisturizer and even though it has a very sticky consistency – it is an amazing product at an amazing price.
And that’s it for the day! Next month I will share my Makeup Must-Have’s for the month and please note that I pay for ALL these products and it is just an honest post about things that works for my skin and could hopefully help for yours as well or just be an interesting read!
